CITY OF South Hialeah DEPARTMENTS:

FORM OF GOVERNMENT

South Hialeah has a City Manager-Council form of government. The Council consists of a mayor and four council members, who are elected by the residents for a two-year term of office. The Council establishes public policy and law and directs the City Manager. The City Manager is appointed by the Council and is the Chief Administrative Officer of the City. The Manager is responsible for all City departments and employees and is directly responsible to the Council for all City operations.

MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

City elections are held every two years, on the first Tuesday in April of each odd-numbered year. Any United States citizen who has been a resident of Maimi Springs for more than six months is eligible to seek elective office. All terms of office are for two years.

VOTERS' REGISTRATION

This service is available during normal business hours in the City Clerk's Office at City Hall. Bring you old voter's card, if you have one, or some type of identification with your signature. You must regsiter in person.

COUNCIL AND BOARD MEETINGS

The City Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month (except July) at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall.
