FORM OF
GOVERNMENT
South Hialeah has a City Manager-Council form of government. The Council
consists of a mayor and four council members, who are elected by the
residents for a two-year term of office. The Council establishes public
policy and law and directs the City Manager. The City Manager is appointed
by the Council and is the Chief Administrative Officer of the City.
The Manager is responsible for all City departments and employees
and is directly responsible to the Council for all City operations.
MUNICIPAL
ELECTIONS
City
elections are held every two years, on the first Tuesday in April
of each odd-numbered year. Any United States citizen who has been
a resident of Maimi Springs for more than six months is eligible to
seek elective office. All terms of office are for two years.
VOTERS'
REGISTRATION
This
service is available during normal business hours in the City Clerk's
Office at City Hall. Bring you old voter's card, if you have one,
or some type of identification with your signature. You must regsiter
in person.
COUNCIL
AND BOARD MEETINGS
The City
Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month (except
July) at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall.
